Stranger than fiction FRONTLINE Ninez Cacho-Olivares 02/17/2010 Caloocan top’s city post is being fought by two candidates of note: Luis “Baby” Asistio, former Caloocan congressmen, and the incumbent mayor, Recom Echiverri. In a strange turn of events, Echiverri filed a disqualification case against Asistio on grounds that he was not a resident of Caloocan, not before the Comelec, but before a court of law — in Caloocan, which is strange enough as it is. Not surprisingly, the judge junked Asistio’s appeal and naturally upheld Echeverri’s peititon to disqualify his rival....
