Noynoy and his people power people EDITORIAL Click to enlarge 02/28/2010 About Noynoy’s so-called unfinished business that started in Edsa: It frightens most what he and his backers may resort to when Noynoy loses, even squarely, the presidency in the May 10 voting. The other day, Noynoy was again appealing to his “Yellow Army” to “guard the vote, ensure victory in May” and was asking anew for a people power to end the regime of corruption. The civil socialites backing Noynoy always have been open to resorting to extra-constitutional means when they cannot achieve a goal through legal avenues. They found that people power was effective in ousting strongman Ferdinand Marcos and again resorted to it, through a thoroughly farcical and abominated copy of it in ousting elected former President Joseph Estrada, creating deep division and deeper wounds in the nation, not to mention the destruction of democracy.....
