So what’s wrong with delaying in answering a question in an open forum, as one ANC anchor would fault and pun President Joseph Estrada by saying that the former President took two minutes in answering a question from a presidential forum moderator. As a preacher, evangelist and speaker for hundreds of occasions from churches to symposiums, I have mastered the art of answering questions from the audience; and part of the technique and strategy is delaying in responding to the question, refusing to answer the question, or “Next question please” or “I’ll refer to this to some other more competent” or “Excuse me, but this line of questioning is out of topic or has double meaning” or “Please elaborate the question” or a humble admission, “Let me see what to make up with your question.” Communicators, including television broadcasters should know this.
