Another alternative view of Syria

Tipping the balance was the recent assassination of Syria’s defense minister and two other high officials by a suicide bomber. I’m still waiting for the sanctimonious talking heads — or, come to that, the BBC or CNN — to condemn this as an act of terrorism.
One has to look elsewhere for believable coverage of the Syrian conflict — which is not to say that the Assad regime is spotless. Chris Mathlaco, coordinator of the South African Peace Initiative has an interesting piece in the current edition of Peace Messenger, journal of the World Peace Council. “The world’s major mainstream media outlets,” he writes, “are hard at work churning out every possible reason to justify military intervention and are awash with whipping up emotions in preparation for the final moment of assault against the peoples of Syria.”....
