Bishop on Palace CARP meet: ‘very technical’
06/10/2012Malacañang calls it constructive while Church leaders opted to describe last Friday’s meeting among members of the Aquino government and representatives of farmer organizations and the Catholic Church in laying the groundwork for the full implementation of agrarian reform as “very technical.”
Malacañang and Church leaders, nonetheless, agreed to create a team that would monitor the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo said this was the consensus after yesterday’s dialogue between government officials, church leaders and representatives of various farmers’ groups in Malacañang.
“It’s not clear yet how this will be done, but it was agreed to create a task force with the Church and Malacañang to monitor CARP’s implementation especially in fixing claim orders,” Pabillo said..... MORE
