Alliance of Concerned Teachers junks gov’t K to 12 program
06/07/2012At a media forum held the other day in Intramuros, Manila, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers assailed the Aquino administration’s much ballyhooed K to 12 educational program, calling it ill-conceived and therefore a disaster waiting to happen since it would only worsen the perennial problems that have long been plaguing the country’s public school system.
France Castro, secretary general of the Alliance, said what is really ailing the system is not that we need two more additional years of K to 12 curriculum, but the lack of sufficient funds and support of the government.
