Caloocan keeps close watch on mad cow disease
05/04/2012Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri has tasked the city veterinary office to keep close watch on peddlers of beef in all local markets for the possible entry of meat that is contaminated with mad cow disease.
Echiverri made the move following the reported cases of mad cow disease from countries such as United States, Canada, France and the rest of the European Union.
According to the National Meat Inspection Service and Department of Health, one out of every 100 kilos of beef imported from these countries may be contaminated..... MORE
