MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Malolos Elementary School has a very special place in the heart of businessman Bienvenido Tantoco Sr.

The retailing tycoon and former diplomat cherishes the school as the place where he first learned the concepts of discipline and perseverance, two things that would impact his career.

“It was my first exposure to formal education and that’s all I know at that young age, and everything to me was interesting and important,” said Tantoco, who celebrates his 91st birthday today. “This is the reason why up to now, at my age, I automatically remember my school.”.... MORE
