37 OFWs arrive from Syria
02/15/2012Another batch of 37 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from war-torn Syria came home yesterday afternoon aboard Etihad Airways flight EY424, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said.
OWWA said the plane arrived at the NAIA at 4:15 p.m. The repatriated workers had availed themselves of the mandatory repatriation program offered by the government as it raised alert level number 4 in December last year.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, some 913 OFWs had been brought home safely since the trouble erupted in Syria in March last year..... MORE
