Batangas City warden dismissed
By Gina Peralta-Elorde 01/29/2012The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) sacked the jail warden of Batangas City jail from his post for alleged scam for pocketing millions of pesos from the daily food allowance for the inmates.
Sacked from his post was Chief Insp. Deogracias del Castillo. He was replaced by Senior Insp. Emmanuel Banawag as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Batangas City jail.
According to report, the P50 budget for food allowance per day for each prisoner amounting to P7,800 which covers the 1,600 inmates at the Batangas City jail only P1, 400 is received by the prisoners and the rest of the amount is pocketed by Del Castillo..... MORE
