Navy chief optimistic on acquisition of MRV

Mallari 12/05/2011The Navy leadership yesterday expressed optimism on the possible acquisition of its first multi-role vessel (MRV) with the process to acquire the long-dreamt ship, which can be used in combat and humanitarian missions, is now in the “advance stages” at the Department of National Defense (DND).
Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Adm. Alexander Pama, during a radio interview over dzBB, said he was optimistic the dream to acquire an MRV was no longer a dream, citing the process to obtain an MRV is now in “advance stages” of the pre-procurement processes.
“I would say it would be in the advance stages…for us in the Armed Forces, we already forwarded it to higher authorities,” Pama said..... MORE
