Solons push poll sabotage trial’s live coverage

Two members of the House of Representatives would like greater media coverage of the electoral sabotage trial of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The electoral sabotage case is in connection with the alleged manipulation of the election results during the 2007 senatorial polls.

Apart fron Arroyo, others recommended charged include former Commission on Elections Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr., former Comelec Commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer, former Department of Justice (DoJ) Secretary Alberto Agra, former Maguindanao Gov. Andal Ampatuan Sr., former Maguindanao provincial administrator Norie Unas, former Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol, former election supervisors Lilian Radham and Yogie Martirizar and several others..... "Former President Estrada also wanted his trial on plunder covered live by the media in March 2006 but the Supreme Court denied his petition.

"Estrada, unlike Arroyo, did not want to leave the country amid the charges filed against him. He has been offered by the Arroyo government to leave during the pendency of his trial but had refused to do so."
