Development work on Muslim burial site in Rodriguez almost complete
By Arlie O. Calalo 10/11/2011The development work of the three-hectare Muslim burial ground is now almost completed, according to Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
The area is located in Sitio Maislap, Rodriguez (formerly Montalban) town in Rizal province.
The governments of Quezon City and Rizal town coordinated to provide the Muslim people a burial site for their departed loved ones.
Bautista said the Quezon City government has turned over to Rodriguez Mayor Cecilio Hernandez a check amounting to P2 million, representing the full transfer of the P5-million grant donated by the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2006 to the Muslim community of Quezon City for the development of the burial ground in the province of Rizal.....
