Thefts leave million at flood risk in RP
01/12/2011A million people in the country are more at risk from deadly deluges after expensive flood warning equipment was stolen, likely by scavengers for scrap metal, meteorologists warned yesterday.
The state weather service said it had sought the help of police and local governments to help guard the rest of the sensors which it suspects are being cannibalized by poor locals who sell them for scrap and quick cash.
