Palace sees convening Cabinet waste of time, sets cluster meet
By Aytch S. de la Cruz 01/03/2011Vice President Jejomar Binay’s wish to start the year with a full Cabinet meeting may not be fulfilled as President Aquino is leaning on an economic cluster meeting to address the consecutive toll rate and taxi fare increases on top of looming fuel price increases that will kick off 2011.
Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning (PCDSP) Secretary Ricky Carandang said Aquino preferred to conduct cluster meetings over formal discussions with the entire Cabinet since he believes this will be more effective.
Binay over the weekend observed that the Aquino Cabinet had not convened in full for three months now but Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma explained this doesn’t affect, in any way, the affairs of the government..... MORE
