President Aquino yesterday said he was taking full responsibility for everything that had transpired in the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) failed rescue operations which ended the lives of eight Chinese tourists during the hostage taking incident last Aug. 23.
Aquino made the admission while defending once again his Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo amid Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero saying that Robredo might not be confirmed by the Commission on Appointments (CA) owing to his inept handling of the hostage crisis.
But Aquino’s statement assuming full responsibility in the failed hostage rescue was deemed unacceptable to some senators.
