Mayon
I have seen Mayon in a blissful sleep a couple of times during the many visits I made to Bicol. And although its mouth had been damaged by its most recent eruptions, the volcano — once a perfect cone, has not lost its pristine beauty that captivates many tourists’ eyes and hearts. There must be something to it that gives it magnificence compared to other volcanoes I’ve seen. Like all Bicolana beauties, Mayon does not lose its splendor even when it’s “angry,” a description locals use when the volcano becomes active, spewing ash and fire, which, when seen at night, in all its red brilliance, ....
