Jobs crisis
This outsider has noticed that some columnists in other newspapers occasionally (and possibly when they’re not feeling up to it, or just before a deadline is about to be missed) advise their readers that they are so impressed with a piece penned by some other, more industrious scribe that they are voluntarily stepping aside to make way for these words of wisdom. There then appears a set of quotation marks and a lengthy block of prose. Having closed the quotation marks near the foot of the column, the columnist may add a few words to round it....
