EDITORIAL Click to enlarge 08/28/2010 By this time, there can be no more doubts that mainland Chinese high officials, as well as Hong Kong’s Special Administrative Region’s chief executive Donald Tsang, are totally miffed with Noynoy Aquino and his bumbling administration for the snub given them earlier. It’s now a tit for tat, what with Chinese officials not clearing the Philippine “high-level” delegation visit to Beijing and Hong Kong, which was scheduled last Thursday. Noynoy and his communications aides’ keep on bungling things, worsening the serious diplomatic gaffes as the days wear on, what with his communications secretaries showing up Noynoy, as well as themselves, as, well, diplomatic idiots, not to mention incompetents. One does not call the HK executive a liar, and Communications Group chief Sonny Coloma did that, no matter how he tries to spin it. He said it was not true that Noynoy was inaccessible and that if there was a call from Tsang, he would have taken it. That’s calling Tsang a liar. The other communications chief, Ricky Carandang, also made it worse when he explained that Tsang did call, but that Noynoy had not been alerted to his call, although he claimed the aide passed on the message to another aide, this time of Foreign Affairs chief Alberto Romulo, but that the DFA never called back. All that displayed the incompetence of not just the aides, but also of the different secretaries, all of whom apparently didn’t think it important that Tsang, the Hong Kong leader, had called and obviously in connnection with the hostage crisis....
