| 08/02/2010 Government security forces yesterday said they had arrested a former member of the Civilian Volunteers’ Organization (CVO) who was among over 100 suspects still wanted for the Maguindanao Massacre, the country’s worst ever political violence. Police arrested Edris Kasan at the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital where he was taken after being shot in an unrelated incident last Friday, police spokesman Senior Supt. Agrimero Cruz said. “He was placed under police custody early Sunday because he is on the list of wanted persons in connection with the Maguindanao massacre,” Cruz told reporters. He said Kasan was one of more than 100 suspects still at large for the November massacre, in which 57 persons, including 31 journalists, were killed near a busy highway in the southern province of Maguindanao.
