ZOOMING IN Rudy Romero 03/17/2010 If media reports are to be believed, the Nacionalista Party (NP) standard bearer’s campaign for the presidency is coming along very nicely. Manny Villar is said to be now in a “statistical tie” with the Liberal Party’s standard bearer, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino and the NP is said to be winning new supporters all the time. That is what the media are reporting about Villar’s quest for the nation’s highest position. However, the situation on the ground appears to be quite different. The campaign of the one-time representative of Las Piñas City seems to have run into trouble on account of three factors, all of them traceable to his conduct prior to and during the campaign. The first of the three factors has to do with the exposé of Sen. Jamby Madrigal on the insertion of a second appropriation for the extension of the C-5 roadway and the subsequent Senate inquiry into the allegation....
