Lies and more lies FRONTLINE Ninez Cacho-Olivares 02/24/2010 Gloria Arroyo, now in the twilight of her stolen presidency, is in a desperate bid to change her history and ascension to Malacañang, twice over stolen. In her speech for the Edsa I anniversary, read by her acting Defense chief, Norberto Gonzales, she claimed that she “did not seek the Office of the President. It was thrust upon (her).” She does have chutzpah, and lots of it, given the evidence — provided by herself in a February speech to her then co-coup plotters in a posh Makati hotel — that she and her co-conspirators, which included the traitorous military officers, bishops, priests and nuns, her elite and evil civil society, leftists, the power-hungry political opposition then, Makati businessmen, the anti-Estrada media and even some justices of the high court, had plotted to oust the democratically elected President Joseph Estrada in January 2000, a full year before the actual mounting of their coup d’etat in January 2001....
