50M Filipinos taken for a ride EDITORIAL Click to enlarge 02/26/2010 A report by the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that was acquired by the Tribune brought out two disturbing facts: That a cheating syndicate is still very much active within the poll body and that the ballots for the May 10 elections are not fool-proof. What these two add up to is that massive fraud is rearing its ugly head again, automation or not, come voting day. The automated system, if it works, will severely cut down the post election window for the Garcis and the Bedols of Comelec since the results are transmitted in a flash. The premise here, however, is that the Smartmatic-TIM consortium will live up to its commitments or promises under the P7.2-billion automation contract....
