If Gloria Arroyo is determined to name the next chief justice, she will do so. And quite frankly, there would be no need for the Judicial Bar and Council (JBC) to come up with a list of names, since the likely successor will have to come from the high bench itself, meaning anyone of the current associate justices.

There will be no need for the JBC to conduct interviews, in the matter of the candidates for the top Supreme Court (SC) post, as a precedent has already been set.

The camps of two presidential candidates have been spreading the black propaganda that President Erap will be withdrawing from the presidential race in their respective favor.
No less than one presidential candidate himself told a Metro Manila mayor that he was negotiating a reimbursement of expenses for President Erap to agree to withdraw.
Once and for all, we would like to assure all supporters of President Erap that these representations of our opponents are totally untrue and shows that they are afraid of Erap’s continued popularity.
