No backing out of race — Erap

“No way will I back out of the presidential race.”

This was what former President Joseph Estrada yesterday said during the morning news program at dzBB, hosted by anchor Mike Enriquez, in answer to a question on rumors that Estrada would be withdrawing from the presidential race and endorse another presidential bet.

“I won’t back out of the presidential race. No way. I cannot leave Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and (Senate Pro-Tempore) Jinggoy (Estrada) and any of my senatorial candidates who are running under the banner of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP).”

He also stressed that the reason he is running for the presidency this time around if that he wants to fulfill his promise to the Filipino people of uplifting the lives of the masses.

As Comelec spokesman James Jimenez was quoted as saying, the poll body failed to place the security marks on the ARMM ballots because the printers had not been configured in time for the printing, but not to worry, he says, as the Smartmatic and Comelec marks are in these printed ballots.

As Jimenez put it: “There are two sets of security markings. The NPO marks are not critical” since they (NPO marks) are just an added layer, adding that the ballots would still be read by the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines. “Even without the NPO security marks, the ballots would be protected.”... SAN DIEGO — What starts with an “s” that seniors need more of than younger adults, is great to get a bit of in the middle of the day and could cause teens to turn to drugs if they don’t get enough of it?

The answer is sleep, according to several studies presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

A study conducted by researchers at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) found that 68-year-old adults, on average, did better on a simple memory test if they got more sleep.... MORE
