BCDA gave Aquinos P50M downpayment for RoW SCTex was Gloria’s gift to Aquinos By Charlie V. Manalo 02/07/2010 The Tarlac portion of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTex) was one of President Arroyo’s ways of expressing her gratitude to the Cojuangco-Aquinos who helped her grab power unconstitutionally from then sitting President Joseph Estrada in 2001. This was disclosed by Tribune sources yesterday. Source: The Daily Tribune ALTERNATE URL: http://www.classicposters.com/commentary/20100207hed1.html |

The flight of Lacson EDITORIAL 02/07/2010
The flight of Lacson
Sen. Panfilo Lacson is a wanted man and he will likely fall in handcuffs and all if and when government agents catch up with him. Crime or no crime, he would then end up behind bars because he would be Gloria’s biggest trophy when she steps down from the presidency. Useless tools
Political surveys are no longer a reliable source of information on the strengths and weaknesses of a candidate. What they have turned into is, apart from becoming a money making machine, a trending machine to benefit two or more presidential candidates, and a lot more for some senatorial candidates. What is even more appalling is the fact that what surveys have done when they make their so-called findings public, is merely to provide the public with a scoreboard of respondents’ vote in percentages, and the candidates’ rankings in the surveys, but with no demographics provided (the better for the public not to be able to analyze their massaging ways)..... Can Estrada still catch up? ENQUIRY Demaree J. B. Raval 02/07/2010
Can Estrada still catch up?
That is the question posed by my friend Fel Maragay in his article on former President Joseph Estrada’s chances as a consequence of the decision of the second division of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) throwing out the disqualification cases against Estrada. The question wrongly assumes that the survey results showing Estrada to be lagging behind in the presidential race are true and correct. Corollary to that wrong assumption, too much reliance is made on the unsubstantiated claim of Estrada’s detractors that he will continue to lose supporters, and not even gain any, upon the unfounded fear that their votes might just be wasted if he would be disqualified by the Comelec, or by the Supreme Court eventually.....
