GMA gov’t hit for depriving kids of basic education

01/24/2010

Makati Mayor and United Opposition (UNO) vice presidential candidate Jejomar Binay, in a statement yesterday, said the UN’s Global Monitoring Report (GMR) is a damning indictment of President Arroyo’s failure to provide universal education, particularly to children belonging to the marginalized sectors.

The UN report castigated the “absence of a decisive political leadership” in the Philippines for the deterioration of education, which it said now lags behind Tanzania and Zambia. Both countries have incomes that are only one-fourth of the Philippines’ income.... MORE

Evidently, there is a lot of pressure, via propaganda, from so-called civil socialite lawyers and “constitutionalists” being applied on the Supreme Court (SC) and the Judicial Bar and Council (JBC) not to have Gloria Arroyo appoint the next chief justice (CJ).

If that is not a pure trapo promise, nothing is. Aquino was hoping to recover lost ground in his past few public sessions where.... MORE

When a consistent frontrunner in the surveys suddenly slams the results of the latest SWS survey that shows his points to be slipping while his opponents are catching up, you can be sure there has been some sort of manipulation that went with that frontrunner’s surveys. Perhaps Sen. Noynoy Aquino knows how he got his astronomical numbers in the previous surveys and how the unbelievably low numbers that the rest of the presidential candidates got were arrived at.

The yawning gap in qualifications and performance between Noynoy and the rest of the presidential aspirants should ..... MORE
